Luke’s fitness journey began at a very early age. With a background as a black belt in MMA and a football player, sports were a part of growing up. Around the age of 14, he began lifting weights and reading fitness magazines to improve his athleticism and physique. Over the next couple of years, Luke struggled with ups and downs from depression, disordered eating, and frustration with lack of progress. Around the age of 16, he finally decided he would start investing deeper in his knowledge of training and nutrition. During this time he discovered a passion for reading the scientific literature on training and nutrition and decided he would pursue a degree in exercise science.
After graduating Valedictorian from a high school in a small town in Ohio, Luke moved 1600 miles away from home to attend the University of Tampa on an academic scholarship. Luke knew moving to Tampa would be incredibly impactful for his career and connections in the fitness industry. During his time at UTampa, Luke participated in and helped run several research studies in the Human Performance Lab. By the time he graduated, he had logged over 300 hours of lab experience. During his freshman year, Luke was introduced to the online fitness coaching space through his mentor who ran a very successful online fitness business at the time. After gaining experience as a coach, Luke decided to pursue his own coaching business and began taking his own clients in 2017 at the age of 19.
In December of 2019, Luke graduated from the University of Tampa summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance & Health Sciences with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. At this point, he was fully supporting himself with his business and began working as a coach and in-person trainer full time.
Luke strives to be a coach who sets high standards and holds you to them with a balance of hard-nosed tough love and deep empathy when necessary. Nothing contributes to his fulfillment and happiness as a coach more than seeing his clients succeed. The majority of his clientele are now competition prep athletes or lifestyle transformation clients that are looking for a bit more advanced attention with hormones, gut health, etc. Due to his background, he relies heavily on scientific principles in his programming but has learned the importance of marrying that with experience, as the human body does not always respond like the studies and textbooks say it should. To this day, he has coached over 350 clients in the last 6 years, from all across the world. From 120lbs weight loss transformations to IFBB Pros, Luke’s coaching experience runs deep.
In addition to coaching, Luke got into bodybuilding the summer after he graduated high school. When he decided not to play college football and instead attend college on an academic scholarship, he knew he still wanted a competitive outlet. In his first show, he competed as a natural Men’s Physique athlete and won his pro card in the WNBF at the age of 18.
Not sure if he would ever compete again, in 2017, the classic physique division was introduced into the NPC/IFBB and Luke decided, THAT was the kind of physique he wanted to pursue. 2018 saw his debut in the NPC as a classic physique athlete where he won an overall title and later qualified at another show for Nationals in 2018. After placing 16th at Nationals 2018, Luke took a year off to make improvements and graduate college. In 2020, he returned to the stage and won the Tampa Pro/Tampa Extravaganza to requalify for Nationals 2020 where he placed 4th, missing his pro card by only a couple of placings. Finally, in 2021 Luke earned his IFBB Pro status at the 2021 North American Championships and is planning his pro debut for 2023.
